winter themed drinks + dessert

around the holidays, my mom and i decided it would be fun if we made winter inspired drinks with some snacks! they came out so good, i just had to share with you.

first, the drinks. we made white chocolate peppermint martinis filled with godiva white chocolate liqueur, vanilla vodka, peppermint schnapps, rimmed with marshmallow fluff and candy canes. to add some flavor, we poured in chocolate sauce and dropped in a candy cane stick.

next, the dessert. we made peanut butter blossom cookies using a betty crocker recipe. this recipe calls for a 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, packed brown sugar, creamy peanut butter, softened butter, 1 egg, 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and of course hershey kisses! we chose dark chocolate for ours.

the recipe was really simple. first, preheat the oven to 375°. then, beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and egg with a wooden spoon. once that is all blended, stir in the flour, baking soda and baking powder. now the fun part! put down a piece of wax paper and sprinkle some additional granulated sugar on top. shape the dough into little 1 inch ball then roll in the sugar on the wax paper. place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

we baked our cookies for about 9 minutes. as soon as you take them out of the oven, press your hershey kiss on top! from there, we let them cool and then placed the sheets in the fridge so the hershey kiss wouldn’t melt.

these two quick and easy treats made for the perfect night!
